Café Kafka, a work commissioned by Aldeburgh Music, Royal Opera House and Opera North
Suzanne Shakespeare performs the role of Girl in Café Kafka, a new work by Francisco Coll (music) and Meredith Oakes (words), directed by Annabel Arden and conducted by Richard Baker. A selection of Franz Kafka’s darkly surreal short stories and characters are interwoven in Café Kafka and promises to be an evening that combines potent music with gripping drama and dark humour. The production opens in Aldeburgh and then performs in the Linbury Studio at ROH and Howard Assembly Room, Leeds.
